The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1911 was the 25th edition of Ireland’s premier hurling knockout competition. The championship ran throughout 1911 and 1912, culminating with the All-Ireland final, held at the Cork Athletic Grounds on 18 February, 1912. The match was supposed to be contested by Kilkenny and Clare, however, the final was cancelled owing to the state of the pitch in Cork. The final was postponed until the 12 May, however, Limerick refused to play in that game. A substitute contest took place at Dungarvan on 28 July. The Munster Council nominated Tipperary to play Kilkenny, with ‘the Cats’ winning the game by 3-3 to 2-1. Kilkenny were thus awarded the All-Ireland, the first of three titles in-a-row.

Format

The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was run on a provincial basis as usual. All games were played on a knockout basis whereby once a team lost they were eliminated from the championship. The format for the All-Ireland series of games ran as follows:
* The winners of the Leinster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final.
* The winners of the Ulster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final where the played the Leinster champions.
* The winners of the Munster Championship advanced directly to the second All-Ireland semi-final.
* The winners of the Connacht Championship advanced directly to the second All-Ireland semi-final where they played the Munster champions.
