St. Michael's College is a school in Iligan City, Philippines. It is a Catholic and RVM (Religious of The Virgin Mary) institution of higher learning founded as a catechetical center by Rev. Fr. Felix Cordova, S.J., in 1914. It is presently administered by the RVM Sisters, offering four levels of education: Elementary, Secondary, Tertiary, and Graduate School.
History
The school was formally established as "Escuela de San Miguel" in 1915 with Mo. Ma. Micaela Cuenca, RVM, as the first superior and principal. Complete elementary education was offered in 1928. In 1938 was the first year high school was offered and in that same year the school was renamed St. Michael's Academy (SMA). The school attained full college status in 1952 and the name was changed to St. Michael's College, with only three courses offered at the time - Liberal Arts, Education and Commerce.
