The question of James, Prince of Wales' descendants is a controversial issue, due to its connection to
Jacobitism . The last completely accepted descendant wasCharles Edward, Count Roehenstart who died without issue in 1854. He was the son ofCharlotte Stuart, Duchess of Albany , who was the illigitimate child ofCharles Edward Stuart , also known as "Bonnie Prince Charlie". The Duchess of Albany was known to have had three children; Count Roehenstart and two daughters named Charlotte and Marie-Victoire.It was presumed by scholary historians such as in "The Last Stuarts" of 1983 that her two daughters died childless. However in the
2000s , Peter Pininski released a book "The Stuarts' Last Secret", presenting evidence for a claim that Marie-Victoire in 1779, married the Polish nobleman the Chevalier de Nikorowicz and had a son, Antime. In the book Piniski then presents how the descendency from Antime leads down to him at the time of printing the book.Louisa Maria Teresa
