next_route=152State Route 151 (SR-151), sometimes known as the South Jordan Parkway, is a
state highway in theU.S. state ofUtah connecting SR-154 and South Jordan to I-15 and Sandy. The route spans convert|4.24|mi|km|2 in southern Salt Lake County. The route was formed in 1987 as a connection between SR-68 and I-15, including a proposed stretch of road between 1300 West and 1000 West. The state extended maintenance of the road to SR-154 in 2001.Route description
The highway begins at the intersection of SR-154 (Bangerter Highway) and 10400 South in South Jordan. Heading east on the latter, a four-lane road, the road shifts slightly to the north immediately past the intersection. At 3200 West the road loses one lane in each direction. The route continues east and intersects with several local roads before reaching SR-68 (Redwood Road), where the route widens to four lanes again. Past 1300 West, the highway begins to dip southeast and gains a fixed center median. After passing Mulligan's South
golf course and crossing the Jordan River, the road straightens out to the east and becomes 10600 South while entering Sandy. The highway crosses over I-15 and terminates at asingle-point urban interchange serving the freeway at exit 293.cite map|url=http://maps.google.com/maps?q=south+jordan,+ut&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ll=40.555874,-111.931715&spn=0.053735,0.149174&z=13 |publisher=Google Maps |cartography=NAVTEQ |accessdate=2008-08-19|title=SR 151 Overview]History
State Route 151 was formed in 1987 as a link between SR-68 and I-15. The state would build a road in between 1300 West and 1000 West that would connect 10400 South and 10600 South. In 1992, Sandy requested the state to assume jurisdiction of 10600 South from I-15 eastward to SR-71. The
Utah Department of Transportation approved the measure assuming all conditions were met; however, the eastward extension never occurred to SR-151. In 2001, another stretch of proposed roadway was added to the state highway system, from SR-68 west to SR-154.cite web|url=http://www.udot.utah.gov/main/uconowner.gf?n=200609181659311|title=Route 151|date=November 2007|work= [http://www.udot.utah.gov/main/f?p=100:pg:3977778294530221:::1:T,V:1348 Highway Resolutions] |publisher=Utah Department of Transportation |accessdate=2008-08-19|format=PDF]Major intersections
