- Weather Center
Weather Center is a
news/ weatherprogram produced by The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia.
"Weather Center" debuted on The Weather Channel on
March 10, 1998as a 24-hour-a-day/seven-day-a-week program, to replace the network's previous "Weather Scope" programming. TWC's meteorologists would show weather forecasts and current conditions around the United Statesas well as international forecasts. From its debut in 1998 through early 2000, the program was divided into 3 blocks: "Weather Center AM", "Weather Center", and "Weather Center PM". In February 2000, much of "Weather Center AM" was replaced with "First Outlook" and "Your Weather Today". During the Summerof 2001when The Weather Channel was revamped with a new slogan ("Live by it") and new look, the "AM"/"PM" was dropped from the "Weather Center" branding as many more programs replaced much of "Weather Center"'s timeslots.
2008, "Weather Center" airs weekdays on The Weather Channel from 4 p.m. through 5 p.m. Eastern and weekends from 3 p.m. through 5 p.m. The regular on-camera meteorologists on Weather Center are Nick Walkerand Vivian Brown(weekdays), and Carl Parkerand Kristina Abernathy(weekends).
