Weather Center is a
news /weather program produced by The Weather Channel inAtlanta, Georgia .History
"Weather Center" debuted on The Weather Channel on
March 10 ,1998 as a 24-hour-a-day/seven-day-a-week program, to replace the network's previous "Weather Scope" programming. TWC's meteorologists would show weather forecasts and current conditions around theUnited States as well as international forecasts. From its debut in 1998 through early 2000, the program was divided into 3 blocks: "Weather Center AM", "Weather Center", and "Weather Center PM". InFebruary 2000 , much of "Weather Center AM" was replaced with "First Outlook" and "Your Weather Today". During theSummer of2001 when The Weather Channel was revamped with a new slogan ("Live by it") and new look, the "AM"/"PM" was dropped from the "Weather Center" branding as many more programs replaced much of "Weather Center"'s timeslots.As of
2008 , "Weather Center" airs weekdays on The Weather Channel from 4 p.m. through 5 p.m. Eastern and weekends from 3 p.m. through 5 p.m. The regular on-camera meteorologists on Weather Center areNick Walker andVivian Brown (weekdays), andCarl Parker andKristina Abernathy (weekends).External links
