California's 39th State Assembly district special election, 2007

California's 39th State Assembly district special election, 2007 occurred on May 15, 2007 to fill a vacancy in California's 39th State Assembly district created by the resignation of Democrat Richard Alarcón. Alarcón won a special election to fill Alex Padilla's seat on the Los Angeles City Council. Since Democrat Felipe Fuentes won the primary election with a majority, a run-off election was not necessary. The run-off would have been held on July 10.
