Bramley is a suburb of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England, situated roughly 4 miles from central Rotherham and 8 miles from Sheffield city centre. Bramley is bordered by Wickersley, Sunnyside, Ravenfield and Hellaby. Junction 1 of the M18 is situated in Bramley separating the suburb from that of Hellaby and Maltby, South Yorkshire.According to the 2001 census it had a population of 8,194.

Services

At present Bramley is home to a number of shops and services. Morrisons Supermarket has a store in Bramley next to the M18 Motorway. Also on this development is Hotel Ibis, McDonalds and a Bannatynes Gym. Just across the dual carriageway on the old Little Chef site is a brand new development comprising of Dominos Pizza and Carphone Warehouse. In Bramley Village there is a Betfred betting shop, a Spar supermarket amongst takeaways, an off licence, hair salon, bakery, dog grooming parlour, flower shop, fishing tackle supplies and a Halifax Bank.

Bramley is home to some pubs including King Henry (previously known as The Sportsman and Ball in, where new owners and bad reputations prompted a new name), Master Brewer, The Travellers and Sir Jacks. It is also home to two hotels, Elton Hotel (part of the Best Western chain) and Stonecroft Hotel (as well as the Hotel Ibis). They are both situated opposite each other.

Education

There are no secondary schools in Bramley. Instead, pupils aged 11-18 mostly attend nearby Wickersley School which is situated in Wickersley which is on the border of Wickersley and Bramley. Other students may also attend Maltby School or Thrybergh School, whilst many attend St Bernards Roman Catholic School.
