A631 road

The A631 is a road running from Sheffield, South Yorkshire to Louth, Lincolnshire in England. It passes through the counties of South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The road has many towns on its route including Rotherham, Maltby, Gainsborough and Market Rasen. It is mostly single road throughout its length but has some stretches of dual carriageway as well. The road is approximately convert|67|mi|km long.

heffield to Bawtry

The road starts on Sheffield's bypass, the A6102 near Sheffield Arena. This part of the road is an expressway from the bypass to the M1 motorway. It crosses the M1 at Junction 34 where the A6178 also meets the M1. After the M1 the road is single and heads east to Rotherham. The road then serves as a bypass of Rotherham after it conbines with the A630. It becomes dual carriageway again as the A630 leaves the road on its way to Sheffield. The A631 then continues round Rotherham crossing the A618 then the B6410. It then heads east away from Rotherham as the A6123 continues round Rotherham. The A631 then goes thorough Wickersley and Bramley where the B6060 heads south and then the B6093 heads north. The road crosses the M18 at Junction 1 and continues to Maltby where the A634 heads south east to Retford and the B6376 heads northeast towards Doncaster. It then crosses the B6427 then heads east to Tickhill where it meets the A60. After Tickhill the road passes under the A1(M) then crosses the B6463 and bypasses Harworth From here it heads into Bawtry meeting the A638.

Bawtry to Louth

The road starts again slightly further south off the A638 and heads east of Bawtry passing under the East Coast Main Line railway. It then enters Nottinghamshire. The road becomes dual carriageway as it bypasses the village of Scaftworth then continues as single road through Everton. Further on the B6045 joins from Blyth at Drakeholes. It then becomes dual carriageway around Gringley on the Hill where it crosses the B1403. The road continues as single road until reaching a roundabout with the A161. The road becomes dual carriageway again as the road bypasses Beckingham then reaches another roundabout with the A620. The road continues as dual carriageway crossing the River Trent and heading into Lincolnshire. It then goes through Gainsborough, meeting the A159 and the A156. Later on it crosses the B1398 at a roundabout then the A15. It continues on until forking with the A1103. The road goes through West Rasen then meets the A46. It heads through Market Rasen meeting the B1202 and the B1203. It then continues through the Lincolnshire Wolds crossing the B1225 then terminates at the A157 just outside of Louth.
