County Route 4A was a county road in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, situated entirely in Marlboro Township, where it is known as Conover Road.

Route description

CR 4A began at CR 520 and extended north a distance of 2.10 miles to New Jersey Route 79. Although numbered as an auxiliary route to CR 4, CR 4A was several miles away from CR 4 and apart from its numbering, could be said to be unrelated to its primary route.

History

Conover Road was taken over as a county road on July 17, 1935 [Resolution, Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, July 17, 1935.] In the 1937 renumbering of Monmouth County routes, it was designated as a part of then CR 5 (Now CR 520.). By 1939 it had been suffixed as County Route 5A. When CR 5 was superseded by CR 520 in 1953, CR 5A was renumbered as CR 4A. On May 25, 1989, County Route 4A was decommissioned by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. [Resolution, Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, May 25, 1989.]
