Cheers for Miss Bishop " (1941) and appeared in manyWarner Brothers films, including "Eyes in the Night " (1942), "Yankee Doodle Dandy " (1942) playing Nellie Cohan oppositeJames Cagney , and "Nora Prentiss " (1947). She played the mother of the character played by Sabu in "Jungle Book" (1942).DeCamp played Peg Riley in the early television sitcom "
The Life of Riley ", was a regular on "The Bob Cummings Show " in the 1950s, and playedMarlo Thomas ' mother on "That Girl " in the 1960s. In addition she made guest appearances on many other television shows such "Petticoat Junction ". In 1962, she appeared as a dishonest Southern belle in the NBC comedy series "Ensign O'Toole " with Dean Jones. Viewers in the1960s also knew her from her many appearances in commercials for the laundry product20 Mule Team Borax .On
7 July 1946 , her Beverly Hills home was damaged when a wing hit it after the experimentalXF-11 ) piloted byHoward Hughes (recreated in the 2004 movie, "The Aviator ") crashed nearby. A piece of the wing and a part of the neighbor's roof landed in DeCamp's bedroom, where she and her husband were sleeping, with no injuries.She died at the age of 90 in Los Angeles of
pneumonia .In the
