Voykovskaya ( _ru. Войковская) is a station in the northern part of the
Zamoskvoretskaya Line of theMoscow Metro . It opened in 1964 along with its two neighbors to the north,Vodny Stadion and Rechnoy Vokzal. All were built according to the same standardized pillar-trispan design (also know as "Sorokonozhka"), which was widely used in the 1960s as a cost-saving measure. Voikovskaya's architects wereI.G. Petukhova andA.F. Fokina . The entrance to the station is located on the Leningrad Highway.The station is named after
Pyotr Voykov , a Soviet Commissar who was, in particular, involved into the execution of the family of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II.
