Kevin Paul Mmahat (Mama-Hat) (born
9 November ,1964 ) was aMajor League Baseball (MLB) player in the late 1980s.Born in
Memphis, Tennessee , Mmahat graduated from and pitched forTulane University . He was drafted by the Texas Rangers as a left-handed pitcher in 1987, but sold to theNew York Yankees a year later without playing a game. His MLB debut came on9 September , 1989, and his final game occurred less than one month later, on1 October , 1989. In his MLB career, Mmahat pitched 7.2 innings and attained an ERA of 12.91.Mmahat is best-remembered for his unusual
surname , which is Turkish in derivation. The name inspired severalpun -filled headlines in the "New York Post ", such as "New Yankees Pitcher is Mm, Mm, Good".
