The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hallam is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in England.

The diocese comprises the whole of the City of Sheffield, and the surrounding towns of Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Chesterfield, the Peak District and areas of Bassetlaw and Retford.

The Diocese was formed on 30 May 1980 by removing territory from the Diocese of Leeds and the Diocese of Nottingham and is one of the six suffragan sees in the ecclesiastical Province of Liverpool. The Diocese derives its name from Hallamshire, an ancient name for the Sheffield area. It is under the patronage of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, whose feast is celebrated as a solemnity in the diocese on 27 June.

The first Bishop of Hallam was Gerald Moverley, who resigned in July 1996 and died later that year. The current incumbent is Bishop John Rawsthorne. He had previously been Auxiliary Bishop of Liverpool and titular bishop of Rotdon. The diocesan Cathedral is the Cathedral Church of St. Marie in the city centre of Sheffield.

Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes

This is one of the leading pilgrimages in the Diocesan year and usually takes place in June or July. It is well known that none of the sick attend or stay at one of the hospitals in the town, and stay in the main hotels cared for by the own diocesan team of Doctors and Nurses.

The youth in their brightly coloured shirts are clearly distinguishable and are often praised for the voluntary work in looking after their own individual pilgrim during the week. For many years the uniform's colours changed with each group that went, although recently a highly popular yellow and green shirt has been adopted.

Another tradition of the diocese is that they lead two of the main services at least once whilst staying in Lourdes, this being the Marian ("Torchlight") procession and the Blessed Sacrament procession. Mass at the grotto usually also takes place.
