"Impressive Instant" went to number one spot on the United States Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart where it stayed for two weeks. The song was Madonna's 27th number 1 dance hit. The song also marked the first time one of her albums produced four number one singles on the dance chart.

The inspiration for the song came from a song titled "Naive Song", which is featured on Mirwais' album "Production".
