Havenwoods State Forest is a 237 acre (0.95 km²) unit of the Wisconsin state park system within the city limits of Milwaukee. The park was created to provide an urban green space and environmental education center. The site was previously the location of the Milwaukee County House of Corrections, then an Army Disciplinary Barracks, then a Project Nike base, and most recently a landfill, before restoration ecology projects were conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Schoenecker County Park abuts the property on the northeast.
