management_body =Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Havenwoods State Forest is a 237 acre (0.95 km²) unit of the Wisconsin state park system within the city limits of Milwaukee. The park was created to provide an urban green space and
environmental education center. The site was previously the location of the Milwaukee County House of Corrections, then an Army Disciplinary Barracks, then aProject Nike base, and most recently alandfill , beforerestoration ecology projects were conducted by theWisconsin Department of Natural Resources . Schoenecker County Park abuts the property on the northeast.External links
