Dance criticism is the act of writing or speaking about a performance dance (often ballet or modern dance).
Most major national newspapers of first world countries cover the arts in some form and dance criticism may be included as a part of this arts coverage.
In addition there may exist specialist media to cover any artistic discipline and so some devoted to dance coverage. With decreasing space in newspapers many dance critics are publishing online, either through blogs or websites like Dance View Times.
As with other forms of criticism it may use its own technical language to convey what the reviewer has seen.
