- Kappa Eta Kappa
Kappa Eta Kappa (ΚΗΚ) is a nationally recognized co-ed professional fraternity that was founded in 1923 at the University of Iowa. KHK requires that members are majoring or will major in
Electrical Engineering ,Computer Engineering , orComputer Science .Ideals
The preamble to the constitution of KHK states the principles of the organization.
"Believing that the attainment of education as well as technical training is the aim of all true engineers, we band ourselves together to foster and promote fraternal relationships among electrical engineering students; to strive at all times for the maintenance of a complete and lasting understanding and fellowship between faculty and students; to unceasingly cherish and develop the character and ideals of service as the necessary attributes of the profession."
History
After the founding of the Alpha chapter at Iowa in 1923, other chapters were quickly added. There were five chapters that closed because of World War II.
Currently there are four active chapters:
*University of Minnesota - Beta Chapter - founded 1923
*University of Wisconsin-Madison - Delta Chapter - founded 1924
*Milwaukee School of Engineering - Theta Chapter - founded 1957
*St. Cloud State University - Iota Chapter - founded 1990There are five chapters that are inactive:
*University of Iowa - Alpha Chapter - founded 1923 - inactive since WWII
*University of Kansas - Gamma Chapter - founded 1924 - inactive since 1968
*Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Epsilon Chapter - founded 1924 - inactive since WWII
*Georgia Institute of Technology - Zeta Chapter - founded 1928 - inactive since WWII
*Kansas State - Eta Chapter - founded 1935 - inactive since WWIIExternal links
