- River Lark
The River Lark is a
river inEngland . It is atributary of theRiver Great Ouse .Rising south of
Bury St Edmunds inSuffolk , it flows through that town,Mildenhall andPrickwillow , and joins the Great Ouse south of Littleport inCambridgeshire . It is about 50km long.The
Environment Agency has designated the sections fromSicklesmere to Bury St Edmunds, and fromFornham St Martin toIsleham as Flood Warning Areas.The River Lark is also an important focus for Prehistoric activity, particularly relating to the Neolithic enclosure at Fornham All Saints. The river also runs through
Culford School , and plays an integral part in school life, used for activities such lakeing/punting and rowing----
There is a second, much shorter, River Lark also in Suffolk - it flows into the
River Deben atMartlesham .ee also
