"Ghatothkach" is a 2008 animated movie based on the life of the Mahabharata character Ghatothkacha, the son of Bhima and Hidimbi. The movie is directed by Singeetham Srinivas Rao, who also scores the music for the film. It is a remake of a classic Telugu hit movie, Mayabazar, which came out in 1957 and starred legends such as NTR, Savitri, ANR and S.V. Ranga Rao.

This film has lots of errors regarding facts in the story, such as the name of Abhimanyu's lover, which is Seshirekha, not Surekha, as the movie says. A lot of parts of this movie are also 'modernized.' For example, Abhimanyu and 'Surekha' share a French kiss, which is ridiculous, considering that this movie takes place in ancient times where it was considered blasphemous to romantically touch someone who was not a spouse. The word, 'bazaar' is repeated many times, even though it is not actually an original Hindi word. It was adapted from Persian. One song has item girls whose looks are similar to Las Vegas show girls dancing behind Ghatothkach while other people are riding a roller coaster. The director seemed to have forgotten that he was portraying a Hindu myth while making this movie. Despite all the mistakes, it is considered to be a hit, but when looking at the quality and the creativity of the movie, it is a debacle.
