AngolaCarlos Alexandre Fortes Alhinho (
10 January 1949 –31 May 2008 ) was aCape Verde an-born Portuguese international football player and coach. He was one of the few players of his generation that played for the three great teams of Portuguese footbal,Sporting Lisbon ,Benfica andFC Porto . He won titles of National Champion for Sporting, in 1973/74, and Benfica, in 1976/77. He represented the Portuguese national team on 15 occasions, 8 for Sporting, 6 for Benfica and 1 forPortimonense , having his first game at28 January 1973 , in a 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland, for a World Cup qualifier, and his farewell at5 May 1982 , in a 1-3 loss to Brasil, in a friendly. As a coach, he managed the Angolan and Cape Verdean national sides. He died from an accidental fall in May 2008 aged 59.
