- Beech Senior High School
Beech Senior High School is one of the three high schools in
Hendersonville ,Tennessee . The current school officially opened on August 27, 1981, under the direction of Mr. Merroll N. Hyde. In 1986, the first female principal inSumner County , Mrs. Mary Clouse, became the principal. Mr. Frank Cardwell became the principal in the 1999-2000 school year.The school's mascot is the
Buccanneer , although it has been shortened to Buc sometimes. The school colors are royal blue and orange.A major change happened in the 2005-2006 school year when a new T.W. Hunter Middle School opened. Beech relocated many of its ninth grade classes to the old T.W. Hunter building, now the high school's annex.
As of Summer 2008, the school implemented an alternative to summer school, called "Credit Recovery." This is a unique program which allows students to retake core classes on the computer that they have failed in order to gain back their credits.

Classes (especially core) at BHS follow either the Standard, Honors, or
Advanced Placement level, excluding those in the Fine Arts and some other courses.Clubs and Activity Groups
At Beech, there are many interests covered, providing a wide arrangement of activities students can pursue. Some of these include the BETA club, DECA, FBLA,
Fellowship of Christian Athletes , FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, band, chorus, NHS, NTHS, Noah's Promise/STARS, SkillsUSA, student council, yearbook, the Beech Scene newspaper, Interact, Mock Trial, Young Politicians, and Venture Crew among others.ports
In the 2007 season, Beech Senior High had a 7-4 record in football. So far in the 2008 season, the team has a record of 5-1.
In addition to football, the school offers soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, cross country, tennis, golf, track, bowling, and ice hockey teams that you can join.
