Ponte Vedra High School (PVHS) is a public high school in the St. Johns County School District, located in northeast St. Johns County, Florida (USA). The High School was constructed to relieve overcrowding at Allen D. Nease Senior High School and is the 5th or 6th High School built in St. Johns County. Ponte Vedra High School and Creekside High School were constructed simultaneously.

Overview

The building has a capacity of 1,500 students. The school building is a two-story octagon with an open courtyard in the center. The gymnasium and auditorium are attached on the east and west sides, respectively. The school opened for the 2008-2009 school year with 9th, 10th & 11th grades and will graduate their first class in 2010. Their curriculum offers academy programs in the areas of Biotechnology and International Business & Marketing. The advanced scholars program gives students the option to participate in the rigorous programs of advanced placement, dual enrollment and honors courses.The school mascot is the Shark and colors are Ponte Vedra (Carolina) blue, silver and white. The mascot was decided by a council of Ponte Vedra school board members, parents, and students.
