"Troubadour" is the title of a country music song written by Leslie Satcher and Monty Holmes. It was recorded by American country singer George Strait as the title track to his 2008 album "Troubadour", from which it was released in 2008 as the album's second single, and the eighty-sixth chart single of his career. It has become his seventy-ninth Top Ten single on the "Billboard" Hot Country Songs chart which places him second only to Eddy Arnold who had ninety-two Top Ten hits in his career.Fact|date=September 2008

Content

The song is a ballad in which the narrator reflects on his life as a troubadour, feeling that he is content with what he has accomplished ("I was a young troubadour when I rode in on a song / I'll be an old troubadour when I'm gone").cite web |url=http://www.the9513.com/george-strait-troubadour/ |title=George Strait - "Troubadour" |accessdate=2008-07-07 |last=Vercher |first=Brady |date=2008-06-03 |work=The 9513]

Music video

In August 2008, Strait released a music video for the song. Directed by Trey Fanjoy, the song's video alternates between footage of him singing, and shots of archived photos from various points in his career. This is his first music video since 2006's "The Seashores of Old Mexico", which Fanjoy also directed.
