September 26 ,1950 in Repulse Bay, Northwest Territories) is a Canadian politician. He represented the electoral district ofNunatsiaq in theCanadian House of Commons from 1988 to 1997. He sat in the house as a member of theLiberal Party of Canada . In 1999 he was elected as a member of theLegislative Assembly of Nunavut , but did not run for re-election in 2004.Political career
2008 Nunavut general election
Anawak attempted to run for a seat in the 2008 Nunavut general election. He filed nomination papers to run in the electoral district of
Akulliq but was denied as a candidate byElections Nunavut Chief Electoral Officer Sandy Kusugak.
