Reverend Professor John Barton is the Oriel and Laing Professor of the Interpretation of Holy Scripture at
Oriel College, Oxford . He delivers the lecture series: Aspects of theBiblical Canon .Professor Barton is an ordained
deacon andpriest in theChurch of England , is a canontheologian atWinchester Cathedral and a member of the Church of England GeneralSynod where he representsOxford University clergy. He holds an Honorary Doctorate ofTheology from Bonn University. He also has positions as Governor and Chairman of the Board of Studies at Cuddesdon and as General Editor forOxford University Press , amongst others. His research interests lie inOld Testament Prophet s; BiblicalEthics ; Canon; Biblical Interpretation;Old Testament Theology .Publications
