"7 Things", also known as "7 Things (I Hate About You)", is a song by American pop singer Miley Cyrus, and is the first single from her first solo studio album, "Breakout". The song was released in May 2008 and is due for release in the UK 10th November 2008.

Background

"7 Things" was written by Cyrus, Antonina Armato, and Tim James, all of whom co-wrote Cyrus's hit single "See You Again" and a number of songs from "". Promotion and release

"7 Things" debuted on Radio Disney on May 12 2008, and on "Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo" a day later. The song became one of the most added songs to contemporary hit radio stations the following week, and even received rotation on adult contemporary radio stations. The music video was shot in Los Angeles the weekend of the week beginning May 30, 2008 with famous Hollywood director Brett Ratner who has worked with Madonna and Mariah Carey.The video features Maiara Walsh(Cory In The House) and Liana Liberato. Also as said before she is holding a picture of her and her ex-boyfriend's face is scratched out, if you look at the hair its like like Cyrus' ex-boyfriend. Also a picture like that was leaked, but with Nick Jonas on the space, it fits.The video was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards but Cyrus lost to Tokio Hotel.

In the UK Singles Chart, the song charted at 87 on the same week "Breakout" first charted due to strong downloads. The physical release in the UK will be on 10th November 2008.
