Eimsbüttel is one of the 105 quarters in the Eimsbüttel borough of Hamburg, Germany. In 2006 the population was 54,702.

History

On March 1, 2008 the Eimsbüttel quarter lost a part of its area to form the quarter Sternschanze in the borough Altona [Bezirksverwaltungsgesetz (BezVG), July 6th, 2006, Hamburg] .

Geography

In 2006 according to the statistical office of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the quarter Eimsbüttel has a area of 3,2 km².

Demographics

In 2006 in the quarter Eimsbüttel were living 54,702 people. The population density is convert|16930|PD/sqkm|0|abbr=on. 10.6% were children under the age of 18, and 16.2% were 65 years of age or older. 14% were resident aliens. 2,710 people were registered as unemployed.
