Swanton, Maryland

The town of Swanton is located in Garrett County. The town's main street consists of a famous store called the Swanton Mall, which is famous for its chili sauce for hot dogs, a church, an antique store, and a post office. Swanton is close to several recreation areas like Deep Creek Lake State Park.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there was 567 people, 210 households, and 50 families residing in town. the population density was 186.5 people per square mile. There was 312 housing units at an average density of 156.3/sq mi. The racial makeup of the town was 99.15% White, African American 0.85%, NATIVE American 0.02%, Asian 0.00%, Hispanic, 0.01%.
