*Glenwood South: Glenwood South consists of the last several blocks of Glenwood Avenue just west of downtown and south of Peace Street. The area used to be a warehouse district and industrial neighborhood, but is now becoming a restaurant, shopping, and nightlife district with new condominium developments as well as renovations of historic buildings, most notably The Creamery, which used to be a dairy production center but is now restaurants and offices.
*State Government District: This area is bounded by Peace Street on the north, Jones Street and the North Carolina State Legislative Building on the south, Capital Boulevard on the west, and N Wilmington Street on the east. The area mostly consists of North Carolina state government buildings and offices, and a grass "mall" between N Salisbury and N Wilmington Streets.
