Biography
In 1993, Levy was a member of the "Half Pint Players", a teen-age improvisation group in Stamford, Connecticut.[1]
While a student at Emerson College in Boston MA, Levy won the title of funniest college comedian in America at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, CO.[2]
Since then Levy has appeared on the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and has made appearances on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents:Dan Levy The Late Late Show and has hosted three shows on MTV, including Your Face or Mine, The Reality Show and Pretty Smart: Spring Break 08.
Levy co-starred in the feature film, My Sexiest Year, with Frankie Muniz and Harvey Keitel. He will also be featured in the SONY Screen Gems film Mardi Gras.[2]
Levy starred and wrote the TV pilot "Below the Law" with Steve Basilone, which won "best comedy pilot" at the New York Television Festival September 16, 2008. "Below the Law", was also shown at the Montreal Just for laughs festival and will be shown again next month at the Austin Film Festival.
This summer Levy was in New York filming the IHaveToGoInAMinuteShow, a daily comedy show produced by CollegeHumor and directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson.[3]
Levy produced, wrote, and starred in My Long Distance Relationship, a 10-part web series for Crackle. A new episode is posted online each week.[4] The web series has recently been bought by MTV and Levy is executive producing the PILOT.
Dan is currently touring across college campuses around the country with CollegeHumor.[5] He also appears frequently as a "roundtable" guest on Chelsea Lately.
He is married to writer and actress Rachel Specter.
