Ellie Daniel

Eleanor ("Ellie") Suzanne Daniel (born June 11, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American swimmer and olympic champion. She competed at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, where she received a gold medal in "4 × 100 m medley relay", a silver medal in "100 m butterley", and a bronze medal in "200 m butterfly". World record

She held the world record in 200 m butterfly, long course (2:18.4) from August 1971 to August 1972.

Awards

Daniel was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1997.
