- Bake sale
A bake sale is a
fundraising activity where baked goods such asdoughnut s,cupcake s andcookies , sometimes along with ethnic foods, are sold. Bake sales are usually held by small,non-profit organization s, such asclub s,school groups and charitable organizations. Bake sales are often set up around an area ofpedestrian traffic, such as outside agrocery store or at a busy intersection near a mall.A major selling point of bake sales is the supposed and often advertised homemade nature of the goods being offered, but with the proliferation of prepared
cookie dough and boxedmuffin s andcupcake s, this claim has become increasingly dubious. In the
United Kingdom the 'bake sale' is known as a 'cake stall' although pies, biscuits and so forth are also available.Items available at a bake sale usually include the following:
-cake slices
-pie slices
-brownie squares
-cookies
-muffins
-doughnuts
-water
-juice
-lemonade
-soda
-snowcones (flavored crushed ice)For health nuts out there it can also include:
-fruit cups
-granola barsReferences
