Volhynian Governorate ( _ru. Волынская губерния, _uk. Волинська губернія) was a
governorate of theRussian Empire , created in 1792 after theSecond Partition of Poland from the territory of theKiev Voivodeship and Wołyń Voivodeship. After the First World War, part of the governorate became the new Wołyń Voivodeship in theSecond Polish Republic .
