World's End murders

World's End murders

The World Ends murders occurred in October 1977. They are so called because the two victims were last seen alive leaving the Worlds End pub at the edge of Edinburgh's Old Town.

The bodies of Helen Scott and her friend Christine Eadie, both 17, were found six miles apart in East Lothian in October 1977. Both women had been beaten, raped and strangled. Trial

The trial of suspect Angus Sinclair took place in August 2007, 26 years after the killings took place, but collapsed due to insufficient evidence. [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/6986995.stm"Judge throws out World's End case' BBC NEWs 10/09/2007] ]
