Wakako Tsuchida

Wakako Tsuchida

Wakako Tsuchida (born October 15, 1974) [http://www.bostonmarathon.org/Archives.asp?id=62] is a Women's paraplegic athlete accomplished in wheelchair-marathons and ice sledge competitions. She has won the women's wheelchair division of the Boston Marathon twice, in 2007 and 2008 and the Honolulu Marathon twice as well, in 2003 and 2005. At the 2000 Summer Paralympics she took a bronze medal in the marathon, while at the 2004 Paralympics she won a gold medal in the 5000 metres and a silver in the marathon. Her hometown is Tokyo, Japan.
