Jose Vinicio Adames Pineda (March 1, 1927 – September 3 1976) was a Venezuelan musician, and director of choral gropus, was born in Barquisimeto, Lara state.

From very young started his vocation for music, thanks to violinist Francisco de Paula Medina. Subsequently, he enters at the "Santa Cecilia" Music Academy, where Doralisa Medina gave him piano and vocalization lessons. During his studies at Lisandro Alvarado High School, founds in May, 1948 a choir for the institution. After he graduates as baccalaureate, traveled to Caracas to study dentistry at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). In parallel, enters at the UCV University Choir as a soloist and instructor of strings instruments, taking classes with Alfredo Hollander and Inocente Carreño at the School of Music of Caracas. When the university is reopened, he enrolled at the Faculty of Economics Sciences. For 1958, graduates with a degree in International Studies.

In 1965, the UCV University Choir participates at the First International festival of university choirs, at the Lincoln Center in New York City. In 1967, the U.S. government gave to Adames a scholarship for a direction course with Robert Shaw at the Oakland University, Michigan. He was married with Romelia Mujica Marcano, with her he had three children Jose Vinicio Adames, Juan Manuel Adames, and Andrea Adames.

Adames, was also in charge of the Central Bank of Venezuela Choral, recording in 1973, an album of Venezuelan folk music. Vinicio Adames died on September 3, 1976, along with the members of the UCV University Choir, in a aircraft accident at Lajes airport, Azores Islands,cite web | url = http://www.fpolar.org.ve/Encarte/fasciculo24/fasc2408.html | title= Un llanto inconsolable | author = Historia de Venezuela en Imágenes, Fundación Polar| accessdate=2008-04-19 es_icon] during a travel to Barcelona, Spain, for the participation of the group at the "Festival Internacional del Canto Coral".
