Subsequently, he enters at the "Santa Cecilia" Music Academy, where Doralisa Medina gave him
piano and vocalization lessons. During his studies at Lisandro Alvarado High School, founds in May, 1948 a choir for the institution. After he graduates as baccalaureate, traveled toCaracas to study dentistry at theCentral University of Venezuela (UCV). In parallel, enters at the UCV University Choir as a soloist and instructor of strings instruments, taking classes with Alfredo Hollander andInocente Carreño at the School of Music of Caracas. In 1965, the UCV University Choir participates at the First International festival of university choirs, at the
Lincoln Center inNew York City . In 1967, the U.S. government gave to Adames a scholarship for a direction course with Robert Shaw at theOakland University ,Michigan . He was married with Romelia Mujica Marcano, with her he had three children Jose Vinicio Adames, Juan Manuel Adames, and Andrea Adames.Adames, was also in charge of the Central Bank of Venezuela Choral, recording in 1973, an album of Venezuelan folk music.
