Linda Goode Bryant (born 1949 in
Columbus, Ohio ) is an Americandocumentary film maker.Goode Bryant received her B.A. at
Spelman College inAtlanta, Georgia and a Masters Degree in Business fromColumbia University inNew York City . She co-produced and directed "Flag Wars " (2003), acinéma vérité Emmy Award -nominated documentary. She is a 2004Guggenheim Fellow andPeabody Award winner. She was founding Director ofJust Above Midtown (JAM), aNew York City non-profit interdisciplinary artists’ space that supported new work by emerging visual, video, and film artists, choreographers, musicians, writers, and performance and theater artists. JAM was the first gallery space to exhibit the work ofAfrican-American artists and other artists of color in a major gallery district. At JAM’s inception, works by artists of color were primarily exhibited in community centers and cultural institutions inAfrican-American , Native American,Latino and Asian communities.In 2003 Goode Bryant founded the
Active Citizen Project (ACP), anon-profit organization that serves as a catalyst and laboratory for broad-basedpublic activism usingart andnew media as tools forsocial change . She is the Executive Director of ACP.External links
