Zofenopril (also known as Zofenoprilum [Latin] ) is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor with cardioprotective properties indicated for the treatment of hypertension. [cite journal |author=Ambrosioni E |title=Defining the role of zofenopril in the management of hypertension and ischemic heart disorders |journal=Am J Cardiovasc Drugs |volume=7 |issue=1 |pages=17–24 |year=2007 |pmid=17355163 |doi= |url=]

In small studies, zofenopril appeared significantly more effective than the older antihypertensives atenolol and enalapril, and was associated with less adverse effects. [cite journal |author=Nilsson P |title=Antihypertensive efficacy of zofenopril compared with atenolol in patients with mild to moderate hypertension |journal=Blood Press Suppl |volume=2 |issue= |pages=25–30 |year=2007 |month=October |pmid=18046976 |doi= |url=] [cite journal |author=Mallion JM |title=An evaluation of the initial and long-term antihypertensive efficacy of zofenopril compared with enalapril in mild to moderate hypertension |journal=Blood Press Suppl |volume=2 |issue= |pages=13–8 |year=2007 |month=October |pmid=18046974 |doi= |url=]
