ElectionsThe Democratic People's Alliance (Serbian: Демократски народни савез, Demokratski Narodni Savez, DNS) is a political party in Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the last legislative elections in Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, 5 October 2002, the party won seats in the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 3 out of 83 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska
Now the former political party, League of People's Rebirth, merged into the Democratic Peoples Alliance.
The head of the DNS is Marko Pavić, a former communist and agent of the UDBA and DB (Yugoslav intelligence agencies). Marko Pavić was also involved in several criminal activities and frauds (in Telekom Srpska etc.). He has the ultimate power in the DNS, as well as in the Prijedor municipality where he has bought many companies and real estate properties. He is the indirect owner of these properties, though legal ownership is held by members of his criminal organization (Goran Marjanović AKA Mućak, Dragan Čorokalo, etc.) Pavić also bought property owned by ex-criminal and convicted felon Milorad Milaković.
