United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 3.0square mile s (7.9km² ), of which, 2.6 square miles (6.7 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²) of it (15.08%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 886 people, 446 households, and 224 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 341.9 people per square mile (132.1/km²). There were 945 housing units at an average density of 364.7/sq mi (140.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.42% White, 0.11% African American, 0.79% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.11% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.68% of the population.There were 446 households out of which 11.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.0% were married couples living together, 3.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 49.6% were non-families. 46.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 28.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.78 and the average family size was 2.45.
In the village the population was spread out with 10.9% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 13.4% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 46.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 61 years. For every 100 females there were 73.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 69.0 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $33,224, and the median income for a family was $50,893. Males had a median income of $28,571 versus $23,250 for females. The
