Rob Storey ".Rob Storey was a
fictional character in the Australiansoap opera "Home and Away ".Portrayed by Matthew Lilley, he was a regular character from 1994 to 1995.He is perhaps most notable for disappearing from the show without any departure storyline.Character history
Rob was first seen as a customer in Alf Stewart's store. He had apparently been a resident of
Summer Bay for some time and may even have been born there since Alf noted he had known him for years.Rob's visit to the store coincided with Jack Wilson's first shift as Alf's assistance which contributed to the somewhat eccentric service he received.Rob had just collected some dry cleaning when the freshly laundered suit was ruined by a careless driver splashing it.Rob got a measure of revenge by placing a potato in the man's exhaust, a prank that was witnessed byRoxanne Miller .Rob quickly assimilated into Summer Bay society, becoming particular friends with
Shane Parrish .He was working as a handyman and put in a tender for some work at Don Fisher's house. The contract ended up going to the other applicant, Mick O'Reilly, but when he started making up jobs in order to put the price up Don quickly fired him and hired Rob instead.Roxy hadn't been particularly impressed with her first meeting with Rob but it quickly became clear there was a spark between them. When Roxy finally admitted her feelings, the pair soon started dating although they weren't particularly discrete about it, with
Irene Roberts catching them in an extremely compromising position on Don's kitchen floor, while Rob was supposedly repairing the cooker. She agreed to keep quiet about it but when Sarah Thompson overheard Rob and Roxy discussing the incident in the Diner kitchen it was soon around town. For a time Rob ended up lodging with Irene, where he often ended up in the crossfire of her rows with Selina Cook.Roxy's influence caused Rob to take up a teaching post at Summer Bay High, a career he had pursued in the past, although he wasn't the most responsible of adults-while supervising a teenage party his method of splitting up a catfight between Selina and
Shannon Reed was to turn a hose on them. When Rob noticed a lump on Roxy's breast he persuaded her to check it out and she was soon diagnosed with cancer.Rob's efforts to support her were hampered slightly by the reappearance of his former fiancé
Donna Bishop .Rob was prepared to propose to Roxy but she told him she didn't love him and left the Bay for treatment without him. Donna comforted Rob in the aftermath and for a while it seemed they might reconcile until her old boyfriend Andrew Warren arrived in town.Rob was furious to learn Andrew used to beat Donna and flabbergasted when she then went back to him anyway. His frustration boiled over into work and he ended up taking his anger out on Jack, resulting in him being fired. He then persuaded Michael Ross to sell him the boat shed and set up business there. In the end, Andrew grew jealous at Donna spending time with Rob and their other friend
Travis Nash and hit her again.Rob was the first person she went to and he was on hand to rescue her when Andrew tried to stop her moving out.Again it looked as though Rob and Donna might get back together but she ended up with Travis instead.Rob was last seen alongside Irene and Travis helping Curtis Reed get over his alcohol addiction.Rob was subsequently removed from the opening credits and although he was referred to as being around and running the boat shed until well into 1996 he was not seen again. He presumably left the Bay prior to 2002 when the boat shed was run by Scott Hunter.
