Aortopulmonary window

Aortopulmonary window

The aortopulmonary window is a small space between the aortic arch and the pulmonary artery that is visible in the lateral chest radiograph. It contains the ligamentum arteriosum, the recurrent laryngeal nerve, lymph nodes, and fatty tissue.cite journal |first=Marc |last=Dewey |coauthors=Donna Magid, Paul S. Wheeler and Bernd Hamm |title=Aortopulmonary Window or Angle on the Chest Radiograph? |journal=American Journal of Roentgenology |volume=182 |pages=1085-1086 |year=2004 |url=http://www.ajronline.org/cgi/content/full/182/4/1085 |issn=0361-803X] The space is bounded anteriorly by the ascending aorta, posteriorly by the descending aorta, medially by the left main bronchus, and laterally by mediastinal pleura.
