John Stewart Muller is an American motion picture and television commercial director. He was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where he attended the Pembroke Hill School before moving to Los Angeles, California to study film at Loyola Marymount University. His debut feature, "Fling" (formerly titled "Lie to Me"), premiered to a sold out crowd at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 26, 2008 and received an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking" by the festival's jury. "Fling" will have its East Coast Premiere on Friday, November 7 at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

Biography

A founding partner of Steele Films and a multi-talented and highly skilled director, John began making films at the age of seven. Experimental, artistic and incredibly personal, his past work helped hone his creative skills allowing him to pursue a career as an award-winning commercial director. Raised in Kansas City and educated at Loyola Marymount University’s film program in Los Angeles, Muller officially founded Steele Films in the summer of 2000. Since then, Muller has been directing award-winning television spots around the country for an exclusive, yet diverse, clientele. After eight years in commercials, Muller has shifted his focus to full-length motion pictures, completing a number of original screenplays with his partner/producer Laura Boersma. Having recently completed his first commercial feature, "Fling", John continues to strive to create compelling, challenging and inspiring work in all his cinematic endeavors.
