Kamiakin High School, is a high school located in northwestern Kennewick, Washington. Kamiakin was founded in 1970 at 600 N Arthur Street in Kennewick, and went through a remodel in the early 2000s. It currently has an enrollment of about 1,800. The school is named after Kamiakin, a chief of the Yakama Tribe in the 1800s and a leader of the Native American side in the Yakima War.

Athletics

The school's colors are scarlet and gold, and its teams are called "Braves". Kamiakin High is classified as a 4A school, and it competes in the hybrid 3A/4A Columbia Basin League. Kamiakin's biggest rivals in most sports are Southridge High School (located in southwest Kennewick) and Kennewick High School (in the east). In football, the annual game with the much larger 4A Pasco High School ranks as one of the fiercest high school rivalries in the state. Kamiakin's football and soccer teams play their home games at Neil F. Lampson Stadium. The school's dance team frequently competes at national competitions.
