James Apjohn (1 September 1796 – 2 June 1886) was the Irish chemist.

Life

Apjohn studied at Trinity College, Dublin medicine and finished with his M.B. in 1822. About 1824 he was appointed lecturer for chemistry at a medical school in Dublin and in 1850 he became professor for chemistry at Trinity College, although he was professor for Geology at the University since 1841. He discovered several new minerals Apjohnite and Jellettite
