Interstates • U.S. Routes • State Routes← SR 776 SR 781 → State Route 778 (SR 778, OH 778) is a very short north–south state highway in northern Ohio. The southern terminus of State Route 778 is at State Route 101 approximately 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Tiffin. The highway's northern terminus is at State Route 19 about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Green Springs.
This state route provides southbound travellers of State Route 19 easier access to southbound State Route 101, and vice-versa, easier access from northbound State Route 101 to northbound State Route 19. State Route 19 jogs east from State Route 778's northern terminus, and State Route 101 traverses in a southwest-northeast fashion when the two routes cross, making right turns from State Route 19 onto State Route 101, and corresponding to that, left turns from State Route 101 onto State Rout 19, very difficult, especially for semitrucks. State Route 228 serves a similar purpose for northbound travelers of State Route 19, and likewise southbound motorists of State Route 101, to the east of this intersection.

Route description
Existing entirely within Seneca County's Adams Township, State Route 778 is not included as a part of the National Highway System.[2]
State Route 778's short journey begins at the intersection of State Route 101 and County Road 43, and travels north, taking over for the county road. The two-lane connector route travels primarily amidst farmland, passing a small clump of trees and a couple of homes on the west side of the roadway prior to arriving at its endpoint at the intersection of State Route 19 and County Road 44. As State Route 778 enters the intersection from the south, State Route 19 forms the northern and eastern legs, and County Road 44 uses the western approach to the intersection.[3]
History
First appearing in 1942, State Route 778 was designated along the short alignment that it currently occupies between State Route 101 and State Route 19. The route has not seen any significant change since its inception.[4][5]
Major intersections
The entire route is in Adams Township, Seneca County.
