Bishop of Dunwich (Anglican)

__NOTOC__The Bishop of Dunwich is an episcopal title given to a suffragan bishop in the Church of England Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich; which is within the Province of Canterbury, England."Crockford's Clerical Directory 2008/2009 (100th edition)", Church House Publishing (ISBN 978-0-7151-1030-0).]

The title takes its name after the small town of Dunwich in Suffolk, and was first used between the 7th and 11th centuries by the Anglo-Saxon historic Bishops of Dunwich. The historic diocese of Dunwich merged with Elmham in the mid 10th century, it then moved to Thetford in 1075 and eventually to Norwich in 1094. Today, the Suffragan Bishop of Dunwich assists the Diocesan Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich in overseeing the diocese.
