Bruce Pasternack (born
September 20 ,1947 ) was the President and CEO of theSpecial Olympics International from 2005-2007. He currently serves on the board of directors ofCodexis , a private biotechnology company based out ofRedwood City California, as well asBEA Systems (NASDAQ: BEAS),Quantum Corporation (NYSE: QTM), andSymyx Technologies (NASDAQ: SMMX), and was, for over 20 years, a Senior Vice President of Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc., and the Managing Partner of the firm's organization and strategic leadership center and its offices in California.Prior to this assignment, he led Booz-Allen's energy, chemicals and pharmaceuticals practice. He was with Booz-Allen from 1976 until 2005.
Pasternack holds degrees in Engineering and
Operations Research fromCooper Union andUniversity of Pennsylvania and currently sits on the Cooper Union board.Pasternack's government service includes head of energy policy at the
Federal Energy Administration , principal staff to theWhite House Energy Resources Council and the President'sCouncil on Environmental Quality . He is a member of the Board of Directors of LifeSpring Home Nutrition and Special Olympics International, and serves on the Advisory Board of USC'sCenter for Effective Organizations .Pasternack has also co-authored two business books, "The Centerless Corporation" (1998) and "Results" (2005).
