Quote from the City of Riesel PD's website [http://www.texnet.net/dkrumnow/] : "The City of Riesel currently has two Officers and a Chief of Police." ...." Riesel Police Officers will respond to any emergency in the Riesel area. All normal police service for areas outside the City of Riesel are referred to the McLennan County Sheriff's Department. The Riesel Police Department highly stresses cooperation with all Law Enforcement Agencies. Calls for service are dispatched by the McLennan County Sheriff's Department which can be reached at 254-757-5222."
The city of Riesel does not have an ambulance service in town, however, there are ambulance services in Marlin and Mart. Generally, for any type of medical emergency, most people go to
Waco rather than Marlin because of the comparative hospital size, quality of medical equipment, and the trip to Waco being about the equal as the trip to Marlin. The city has a volunteer fire dept.References
