Peacocke was born inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania in theUnited States and raised inEdmonton, Alberta , Canada. He graduated from theUniversité de Caen in France, then went on toYale University , where he graduatedMagna Cum Laude in1983 , and then on to theNew York University Tisch School of the Arts . He is fluent in both English and French as well as having some understanding of Italian and German.He is married to Canadian actress
